Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness Meditation is the practice of focusing awareness in the present by observing breathing, body sensations, thoughts or emotions. This focus releases the body's reactions to stress and creates a sense of calmness.

The act of working to maintain this focus improves the brain's ability to maintain attention and calmness. It produces recognition of internal experiences, including body sensations and emotions. It also facilitates acceptance of self and others.

Research supports meditation as an effective way to calm physiological and emotional reactions, reduce stress, improve attention and boost the immune system.
